great with deviled eggs! It added just the right amount of smoke and heat, but the heat isn't bad and does not linger. Comes in a resealable pouch, and you get a ton of it, so I'm expecting this to last a very long time!
This paprika has a great depth of flavor! I have used it on mexican street corn, porkchops, and deviled eggs and the color and flavor is so much better than the generic stuff I have used for years.
We're big fans of paprika and several years ago got turned on to smoked paprika. It elevated our home made roasted red pepper hummus to a new level. A couple of years ago, we brought home some Spanish paprika from Madrid and it set a new bar for us. We've tried other Hungarian paprikas but the most recent one was a bit on the sweet side for me. This smoked hot version is much more to my liking. The first taste I had reminded me more of cayenne than paprika. When I marry it with foods, the heat becomes milder, and the delicious smokiness comes through. This will be perfect in our hummus, on vegetables, on eggs, and however else I might use it. This might knock the Spanish paprika off its pedestal and become our new favorite.
Wow, the smoked hot paprika powder is amazing. The aroma alone when you first open the package is a strong peppery scent and it has an intense color. When cooking with it, I added a little at a time since I had used a smoked hot flavor before, it’s not like the sweet one. The flavor is more intense, with a little going a long way in a recipe. Gave my dish that extra pop of flavor.
I used this as part of my recipe of spices to make blackened salmon and this paprika really brought out the flavors and gave my blackened salmon that unique restaurant-quality flavor. Unfortunately, 4oz is nowhere near enough of what I need, so I’m going to have to get more.
